The health and safety of our patrons, volunteers, performers, staff, and community is our top priority. We continue to closely monitor county and state guidelines to ensure the most up-to-date health and safety protocols are in place. With the recent changes from the CDC and California Department of Public Health, we urge you to read our Health & Safety Protocols page before your next visit to learn more about our and our venues' updated and latest protocols, which may be altered as new guidance is issued.
ABOUT THE PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY'S ORANGE COUNTY YOUTH SYMPHONY
Founded in 1970, the Orange County Youth Symphony is the official youth orchestra of Orange County. Our diverse roster represents student musicians from nearly 50 high school and college programs from San Clemente to Fullerton and beyond.
The Orange County Youth Symphony community of young musicians and their families is particularly committed to advancing and sharing the intercultural love of orchestral music. We serve as music ambassadors to each other and our local schools, districts, and cities.
With the support of a small staff and board, the orchestra is energetically led by our music director and conductor, Johannes Müller Stosch.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Orange County Youth Symphony and the Orange County Youth String Ensemble is to provide pre-professional training to Orange County’s most talented young musicians through varied performance opportunities by establishing an environment that develops the creative ability, self-expression, and the desire for perfection.
