We meet once a month from September through June each year. Meetings are held at different area restaurants and country clubs and feature speakers on a variety of subjects. Once a year we hold a fundraiser to support music education in Orange County on a local level. We also have mixers with spouses and partners. Please come join us for delicious lunches, captivating speakers and as always, wonderful friends and camaraderie. We hope to see you soon!
Location: Newport/Corona del Mar and surrounding areas
Meetings: 1st Wednesday, 10:15am
The Cameo Committee was formed in the late 1950s by a group of young mothers who saw a need to provide classical music experiences for the school children of burgeoning Orange County. Cameo today is an active group of women from the Newport/Corona del Mar area to San Clemente who meet for business, entertainment and lunch on the first Wednesday of the month at the centrally located Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club (1601 Bayside Drive in Corona del Mar).
Our objectives are to support the Philharmonic Society’s music education programs for Orange County children and youth through the schools by raising funds and volunteering at concerts and other events including, but not limited to, the committee wide fundraisers, “Music Matters” and “Music for Kids”, and live events such as the Philharmonic Committees Golf Classic and the Philharmonic Society’s Annual Gala.
Location: San Juan Capistrano and surrounding area
Meetings: 3rd Wednesday, 9:30am
The Capistrano Committee was founded in 1984 to serve the students in the Capistrano Unified School District. We run the gamut from professional musicians to avid listeners. We meet September through May in members’ homes and have a party at Christmas and during the summer months with spouses and friends. Our regular meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month, usually at 9:30am for coffee, followed by a meeting and, often, musical entertainment. We welcome you to join us and experience the excitement of supporting musical programs for the children of South County. Come visit one of our meetings and/or ask to be on our email list to receive current Capo/PSOC information.
Location: Huntington Harbour and surrounding area
Meetings: 3rd Thursday, meeting times vary from group to group (Seal Beach meets the 4th Thursday)
The Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee is a large and active group dedicated to our mission to support music education for the youth of Orange County. Each year we raise significant funds through our annual holiday Cruise of Lights®, offering the public the opportunity to view the beautiful lighting displays with a narrated boat ride through Huntington Harbour. We also stage a Shopping Boutique in the fall and Attic Treasures, an estate sale, in the spring. Our Huntington Harbour Juniors group raises funds with an annual Fashion Show.
The Huntington Harbour Committee consists of 7 different groups, each with its own personality.
Admiralty Group
Admiralty is the oldest Group in the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee and one of the few that have male members too. We meet the third Thursday of September through April for lunch and drinks prepared by our members. Join us to usher children at youth music concerts, visit schools in our Music Mobile, or get jolly helping at the famous Cruise of Lights®! It’s a lot of fun, and we certainly will welcome you as a member and a new friend.
Islander Group
We always welcome new members who enjoy a young, active group and fantastic friendships. We meet the third Thursday of the month from September until April at our members' homes. Meetings are an hour long, alternate between mornings and evenings to accommodate a variety of schedules, and conclude with a lunch or dinner for those who want to socialize. Our evening meetings allow husbands or partners to join afterward for dinner. We have found this provides an excellent opportunity for everyone to get to know each other and creates a more close-knit community.
We raise much-needed funds supporting children’s music programs throughout Orange County, in collaboration with the other 5 groups of the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee. All members participate in our signature fundraiser, the Cruise of Lights®. We encourage members to get involved with our other fundraisers, and children's music education programs, concerts, and activities.
Our members join us from all over Huntington Beach, including Huntington Harbour, as well as other Orange County areas. We would love to meet you!
Juniors Group
The Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Juniors is an active group of high school students who promote the Philharmonic Society of Orange County by being the Junior arm of the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee.
Each year, we welcome the addition of new Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Junior members. We accept all high school students, grades 9-12, who live in Orange County and attend any local schools.
HHP Juniors meet once a month at a member's home or participate in outside meeting events such as the Cruise of Lights and harbor/beach clean ups, all of which contribute to the earning of community service hours. As high school students focus on academics, extracurricular acitivites, sports, etc., and think about applying to colleges, service hours through organizations just as the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Juniors is a fun and easy way to add community service to college applications while giving back to the community.
If you are a high school student who is interested in joining, please email hhpcjuniors@gmail.com.
Marina Windjammer Group
We are a warm and welcoming group of varying ages from all over the Harbour and beyond. What sets Marina/Windjammer apart is the incorporation of live music at each of our meetings on the third Thursday of each month, except in the summertime. Meetings are held in our members' homes starting at 10 a.m. and conclude with a casual potluck lunch. Top notch musicians perform for our group and often share touching stories about how the Philharmonic Society's Committees' programs they experienced as children changed their lives and inspired them on their path to become professional musicians. Our support and activities are making a difference! If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Marina Windjammer, or to check out the fun at our next meeting, contact the Director of Volunteer and Education Services.
Sandpiper Group
Our monthly meetings are held at 3:30 pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month at various homes in the Harbour, followed by a Happy Hour provided by Sandpipers.
Many years ago the Huntington Harbour groups Nautilus and Starboard merged and became the Sandpiper. We are proud that we are named for a bird that is made up of many species because we volunteers have a variety of personalities and talents. Like the bird, Sandpipers pride themselves on friendship, and enjoy working hard for the good of the children of Orange County. Our members participate in fundraising and ushering for the children at Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall and various schools in the area, along with taking the Music Mobile to schools to give students a one-on-one experience with instruments.
Our membership is comprised of men and women throughout Orange County and we welcome anyone who has a passion for music and a desire to promote knowledge, enjoyment and appreciation of music to the community. We are a fun group of folks who love to laugh. We welcome you to join us at one of our meetings.
Seal Beach Group

The Seal Beach Group is the newest addition to the Philharmonic Society. It was established in 2016 and joined the Huntington Harbour Committee to become their 6th Group. Please join our next meeting, party or both!

The Happy Vivacious Women of HVW formed their committee in 1986. The committee members soon became supportive friends as they shared their enthusiasm for bringing kids and music together. HVW members, from microbiologists to retired teachers, volunteer as their own schedule allows. For 34 years, women of HVW have brought the Music Mobile to every third grader in Fountain Valley and Westminster schools. Many usher for Philharmonic Youth Concerts, guide fourth graders at Heritage Hill Historic Park, serve as docents at the Philharmonic House of Design, and help produce an annual fundraiser. HVW also awards grants to local schools through the Philharmonic Musical Reinvestment program. It’s all fun, and no matter who hosts a monthly meeting, there will be guaranteed warm greetings, lively chatter, good food, and song.

Meetings: 2nd Thursday, 9:30am-11:30am
The Saddleback Valley Committee was founded in 1972. We have monthly business meetings in members’ homes from September thru May with occasional music programs and field trips. Our members are highly active in volunteering at all the opportunities the PSOC Committees offer – we usher, docent at local venues in Orange County including Soka University, Segerstrom Concert Hall, Mission San Juan Capistrano and Heritage Hill, and bring the Music Mobile van full of instruments to the local elementary schools in Saddleback Valley. We also fundraise, chair Youth Programs, and serve on the Executive Committee. Our Committee works hard and plays hard going to lunch after our programs, an annual summer barbecue and a holiday party open to spouses, partners, and friends. Our major fundraiser this past year was held at the Dana Point Yacht Club with a luncheon and an interesting program. We have an inhouse fundraiser to provide a scholarship for the music programs in the Saddleback Valley middle schools.
If you are interested in joining this wonderful group or want more information, please contact the Director of Volunteer and Education Services.
Location: Santa Ana
Meetings: 3rd Tuesday, October - April at 9:30am, September & May at 6:30pm
Our Committee meets in a member’s home in September and May. It is a potluck in September and May is catered followed by installation of new officers. Other months, we get together at 9:30am at the Tustin Meadows Clubhouse for a social time followed by a meeting at 10:00 am to inform each other of upcoming activities.
Our main fundraiser is an Author's Luncheon in January to help support music in the schools. We also can be seen ushering for the 2nd and 5th grade concerts in the spring and as docents at the House of Design. Many members enjoy taking the Music Mobile to elementary schools and presenting orchestral instruments to 3rd grade students and listening to the excitement evident in students as they learn about a violin and other instruments we make available to them. Many of us enjoy attending other Committees’ fundraisers, the Fall Kick-Off in September, and the Annual Meeting in May.
By working together to support the goals of the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, we each gain the personal satisfaction of helping to bring a love of music to many children who may not otherwise have that opportunity. We always welcome new members!

Location: Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Mission Viejo and surrounding area
Meetings: 4th Tuesday, 10:00 am - 12:00 noon from September through May (no December meeting)
Longtime friends from Newport and Laguna Beach who met every month for playing music together decided to support the new Philharmonic Society by founding Upper Bay Committee in 1957. Over the years, a nautical theme has taken over the lingo! All mates on “UB Ship 1957” are fervent music lovers, be it Broadway shows, jazz, opera or classical music. We enjoy seeing each other at concerts and in each other’s homes. We take turns in the galley, helping with refreshments. We start with ”Coffee & Goodies” before having a short business meeting which is followed by live music! Performers are students in the undergraduate or graduate programs at UCI Music Department or guest speakers. Also, PSOC President-Admiral Tommy Phillips comes aboard Ship UB 157 every year for a lively discussion about the highlights of the season.
Since our crew of 16 oars is not as large as it used to be, we adjusted the sails for our Annual Fundraising Event. We stopped putting together our time consuming Luncheon and Fashion Show for over 200 guests at the Balboa Yacht Club. Instead, we now put a value on our time by simply writing a nice check for “Hoisting the Sails”. We are a small and warm international group. Many of us travel, enjoy museums, keep busy entertaining overseas relatives and friends. But united by our love of music and strong desire to bring it to the children of Orange County, whenever we can, we volunteer by ushering at the concerts for 5th graders or being a docent at the House of Design. New mates, ladies as well as gentlemen are always welcome.
