The Philharmonic Society “Friends of the Community” is a group of enthusiastic volunteers who bring the joy of the arts to events throughout Orange County. Most events are held outside of traditional working hours, which means the group is great for those who want to integrate volunteering into their busy schedules or need more flexibility.

Mission:

The Philharmonic Society’s Friends of the Community brings hands-on arts experiences to community events, igniting the spark of musical curiosity for the children of Orange County.

Friends of the Community volunteers will help run Philharmonic Society booths at community events. Booth responsibilities may include:

Festival of Children

In this free festival celebrating youth-serving organizations, volunteers help Philharmonic Society booth visitors with music-themed crafts and activity sheets.

Sensory-Friendly Nutcracker

The Philharmonic Society hosts a Sound Playground prior to a sensory-adapted Nutcracker performance, offering activities and musical exploration for audiences with special needs.

Family Concerts

Philharmonic Society-hosted family concerts are free and open to the community, making it a great way to spread the joy of music with everyone!

Boca De Oro

Presented by Santa Ana Unified School District and the City of Santa Ana, the Santa Ana Boca de Oro Festival is an annual festival that celebrates literature, the arts, and culture in Santa Ana.

Imaginology

At Imaginology, kids and their families participate in a wide range of fun and educational hands-on activities designed to inspire and encourage academic and career exploration in the STEAM fields.

Free Family Festivals

Free Family Festivals are held at Bowers Museum each month, featuring music and family-friendly activities, including face painting, art projects, live performances, and more.

(Sundays once a month - day varies)
