BOULANGER: D'un Soir Triste
RACHMANINOFF: Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 18
BERLIOZ: Symphonie Fantastique
One of the most engaging conductors of his generation, French conductor Lionel Bringuier leads the Colburn Orchestra and pianist Yanfeng (Tony) Bai in a progarm featuring Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique.
Well-known across Europe, Bringuier most recently concluded his tenure as Music Director of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich (2014-18). Bringuier has a close relationship with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, where he previously served as resident conductor for six years, and has also held posts with Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León in Valladolid, the Orchestre de Bretagne and Ensemble Orchestral de Paris.
Now in its 19th season, the Colburn Orchestra is the flagship ensemble of the Colburn Conservatory of Music. Under the direction of Music Director Yehuda Gilad, the Colburn Orchestra performs for Southern California audiences at venues such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Ambassador Auditorium, Royce Hall, The Broad Stage, Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, and The Soraya.
