This program features a poignant song cycle by Narciso Figueroa, honoring Martínez’s Puerto Rican heritage, and also features vibrant and rhythmically captivating works by Alberto Ginastera and Heitor Villa-Lobos. From Ginastera’s passionate Argentine lyricism to Villa-Lobos’s lush Brazilian soundscapes, the afternoon becomes a sonic journey across Latin America’s diverse cultural landscape.
