16-time Grammy Award-winning violinist Itzhak Perlman is joined by master pianist and longtime collaborator Rohan De Silva in this unique multi-media program, offering an intimate window into Perlman's life and work through live performance, rarely seen home movies, and personal anecdotes from more than a half-century of music-making.
Honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 2008, Perlman’s recordings regularly appear on the best-seller charts. He is also a recipient of four Emmy Awards, among many other accolades. He first came to international attention in 1958 with an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show and he remains a frequent television presence for worldwide audiences. In 2006, he performed a medley from the five film scores nominated in the category of Best Original Score live on the 78th Annual Academy Awards telecast. He has also collaborated on various film scores and has been featured as violin soloist on soundtracks for Zhang Yimou’s film Hero, Rob Marshall’s Memoirs of a Geisha, and most notably Steven Spielberg’s Academy Award-winning film Schindler’s List.
