Renowned for his dazzling virtuosity and magnetic stage presence, Simon Trpčeski brings a tour-de-force recital program that dances between elegance and exuberance. He begins with Ravel’s Valses nobles et sentimentales, a graceful tribute to the waltz tradition, followed by Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite in Mikhail Pletnev’s sparkling piano arrangement.

Busoni’s Sonatina No. 6 “Carmen Fantasy” brings wit and theatrical flair, paving the way for a trio of Liszt masterpieces—the fiery Hungarian Rhapsody No. 11, the dramatic Paraphrase from Rigoletto, and the virtuosic Rhapsodie espagnole.

The best thing to come out of Macedonia since Alexander the Great is pianist Simon Trpčeski... the pianist is pretty good at conquering audiences as well as scores, not only with his playing but also with an engaging manner that connects with his listeners.

The Seattle Times

Trpčeski’s gift for subtlety of touch and nuances of tonal colouring came into its own… His reading … was alert to the inner qualities of pieces too often tossed off with mere bravura.
