2017-18 Season Performances

Maestro Wachs carefully programs each season with a commitment to new music and commissions alongside traditional repertory favorites.

Performances take place at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall and Chapman’s Musco Center for the Arts.

2017-18 season highlights include:

    HUMPERDINCK: Scenes from Hansel and Gretel (performed in English, semi-staged, 50 minutes)

    In its 48th season finale concert, the Philharmonic Society’s Orange County Youth Symphony joins forces with Tesoro High School Chamber Orchestra to present Shostakovich’s monumental Symphony No. 11, The Year 1905. The combined ensemble includes more than 130 of Orange County’s finest young musicians.

    SHOSTAKOVICH: Symphony No. 11 in G minor, Op. 103 (The Year 1905)

    Concerts for Fifth Graders
    Part of the Philharmonic Society of Orange County's nationally recognized youth music education programs, Concerts for Fifth Graders take place at the Renée & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

    Each performance date has two sessions (9:45 AM and 11:00 AM).
