On behalf of the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, we regret to inform you that the Vienna Boys Choir concert, originally scheduled for Friday, November 19, 2021, has been cancelled.
Due to the increased restrictions imposed by international authorities, and the continued uncertainty surrounding international travel and the spread of the virus, the directors of the school and the board of the Vienna Boys Choir have determined that the safety and well-being of the children must remain their primary focus. They have therefore decided to cancel all touring activities, local and international, for the remainder of 2021.
Instead, we are pleased to offer a concert featuring internationally renowned, award-winning Canadian Brass on Friday, December 10.
Founded in 1498 by the imperial decree of Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I, the Vienna Boys' Choir is among the oldest of all musical organizations. Over the centuries illustrious composers, including Mozart, Bruckner, Gluck, and Schubert, have written masterpieces for the Vienna Boys Choir. Many great musicians got their start as members of the choir including the great conductors Hans Richter, Clemens Krauss, and Lovro von Matacic.
