Camera Lucida performs Brahms & Dvorak
A chamber music collaboration between solo instrumentalists of the San Diego Symphony alongside UC San Diego performance faculty and guests from the chamber music world, Camera Lucida continues its exploration of Brahms’ quartets with his Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 60, paired with Dvorak’s Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 87.
Formed in 2008 and underwritten by the Sam B. Ersan Chamber Music Fund at the San Diego Foundation, Camera Lucida is currently in its sixth season. Praised for its innovative and widely diverse programming, the ensemble’s repertoire is anchored by the great chamber music masterpieces of the 18th and 19th centuries but includes offerings ranging from arrangements of late Medieval and Renaissance polyphony to infrequently performed works of early modernism.
